I can’t get over how much it means to me, to have competent, knowledgeable people in the cabinet. Let’s hope they do a great job. It’s almost like playing “fantasy government” when compared to the last lot of jumped up buffoons.

The funny thing about Vallance is that, despite a professorial career, he has only two undergraduate degrees (BSc and MBBS), not a doctoral one (neither an MD nor PhD, whereas many medical researchers have both). That's not to take away from his experience - he's a great appointment, but...

I briefly crapped it thinking it was Holly valance instead of sir Patrick vallance. It's weird how you get used to corruption and nepotism. Thank goodness, it's like a breath of fresh air.
