the thing about replacing biden with harris is that if literally anyone in her orbit thought there was a single chance in hell she was interested, it'd be all over axios, politico and the NYT already. it's a dead letter written by bored columnists who aren't talented to enough to write about sports

I told a non-Sky friend of mine who was panicking a bit about this whole shitshow that if Biden was actually in bad shape as opposed to having a bad night, we'd have seen this media feeding frenzy all day, every day, for months on end 'cause he's doing big public events basically EVERY FUCKING DAY.

Sports journalists are actually insightful and make advocacy based on their judgement and stand by that instead of relying on prestige by itself. Note that the NYT staff apparently loathes The Athletic

if you are a columnist entertaining the scenario, you have to, at the very least, disclose to your readers that there is zero indication harris has any interest in replacing biden, whether or not he's interested in it, and that it actually *legally cannot fucking happen* if neither are into it

this is important and matters because if it's not harris and she doesn't want any part of it, the scenario goes from "pretty implausible" to "utterly implausible and not at all legal in most states"

Right, if there was as much blood in the water as a lot of media folks are desperate for them to be, some folks would be making some moves and somebody somewhere would be leaking some blind items.

The second someone did her relationship with Biden would be dead.

Beltway journalism is pure high school. Everything is either "everyone knows" or "they won't talk to me specifically, so it must be bad"

I do not agree. If Kamala became POTUS today she would be an incumbent, and if Biden died or stepped down due to "health" she would also receive a sympathy bump. I believe women and POC would carry her to victory.
