Not that I don’t agree, but consider the cost (and subsequent eternal traffic delays) of burying the lines? This would be an endless project with costs certainly passed on to the consumer. An alternative: require all new construction and neighborhood rehab to install below ground utilities.

I’m flying tomorrow and I’m already panicking about it. Not full-on knee-crumbling panic, but existential dread Sunday-scary type panic. So, decades ago, my friend and I were in charge of the flagpole at church; an American flag and a Christian flag. One Sunday, a WWII vet came storming in to ask what the distress was. We had, by accident, put the American flag up upside down. We promptly fixed it per his demand. It’s that simple.
