I still think this and I try to keep it in mind even while 80% of my feed is people expressing outrage and vitriol at anyone who isn’t wholeheartedly promoting some specific opinion about the best path forward for the world

this entire crusade against diversity in hiring and admissions is based on the supposition that all white men are necessarily more qualified than any nonwhite person or woman who might be considered for the job. like, this lawsuit more or less states that outright.

I don't think that he's doing that intentionally so much as the press finds her boring to report on (cant call her old, not out being creepy/misogynist like the last veep). Normal veeps are boring. They made a whole TV comedy about it.

Random hot (really medium) take: I always felt she just meant Dems didn't need to be vulgar to win elections. (The Obamas were dealing with outright and thinly veiled racism.) The high road doesn't mean letting injustices stand or even being dishonest about the GOP to be polite.

What was Biden's record as VP? I can't think of anything. (The racist right already thinks of Biden as a proxy for Harris. They are a lost cause and shouldn't be in the equation. The far left was not gonna vote for a Dem like Biden, either.) It's a tough (not impossible) election no matter what.

If they had said they support "minors" having surgery, MAGA and TERFs would pretend "minors" are elementary school students instead of the reality (older teens who are allowed to do stuff like take out student loans or marry and thus should have this right as well!)

The second sentence of this NYT article shows that this milquetoast nonbinding sentence is a direct result of the NYT trying to "gotcha" the admin because they heard the admin was trying to protect trans kids. It's bait. The Biden admin has been in courts arguing against antitrans laws.

My theory: They just care about making pharmacy sales, not so much retail sales. Kids love to shoplift in the suburbs, but things dont get locked up there even with low staff–they need the sales. Also, notice that brand-name drugs get locked up but never store brand which has higher profit margins.

Yep, and on the MAGA side, they don't hide that they're furious at the thought of Harris becoming president. On the "liberal" end, they simply pretend she's not there. A form of racism a lot of us have experienced when opportunities arise.

There is literally no one person who can do that. People who have bought into conspiracies and lies that prop up their racist/xenophobic beliefs are not going to believe even a Dem with the combined charisma and oratory skill of MLK Jr & Obama. Just being a politician is suspect to them.

They've blocked the 7/1 move to a 5% payment cap, so until the case is resolved, payments hold where they are (so if you start payments before they rule on the case, your SAVE cap is 10%).

This is the first I am even hearing of these rulings, and I am now completely confused on how to manage my finances. My debt hasnt been forgiven, but I have no idea what my bill will be next month or next year. Loan payment is my biggest bill after rent. Absolutely absurd.

The spreadsheet isnt the issue. Your local doctor's office is also using them (and this is probably just an export from software being used for QA). The issue is call center contractors can't triage patients! They should be hiring NAs/HHAs as employees getting ongoing training.
