Do you have neighbors who keep/kept honey bees? Most of my honey bee visitors are tended a single beekeeping neighbor. If they removed the hives or lost them to disease, there would be very few bees left in my garden.

Yesterday I found well over 50 plant species here and many animal species (uncounted because they were moving too fast for #iNaturalist observations). Among the snags and fallen logs were tiny trees, just getting started. 3/4

Usually when we think of post-wildfire areas, like this severe 2017 burn, we picture a barren wasteland for years to come.
Actually visiting these sites shows us a very different picture. Look at the vibrancy of this #wildflower meadow! 2/4

That's fair. I share lots of common ground with this person at a gut check level. They're scared taking a stance is the reason that society seems so polarised these days. I'm frustrated because it's my future & rights they want to compromise on (& I don't think that compromise makes a +difference).

I grew up moving a lot. When my parents settled down after my dad's retirement, the family considered unpacking for the first time but realised we have no idea how "normal" people store stuff. Plus, we use a numbered apple box system with a catalog–how would we find anything if it was unpacked?

My undergrad research was in a National Park that my college had a relationship with. I found the NPS to be more strict than the NFS, so would approach early and with lots of flexibility in mind.

In my local National Forest (not the same, but also gov't), we have a science liaison. I contacted them to help set up a Master's student project permit for a labmate. For multi-year projects, I would contact them earlier in the project planning process.
