Telling people that chatbots “will only get better” when the tech is actively spewing harmful and inaccurate information illustrates the deep disdain companies and institutions have for people who rely on their services.
All the waste of resources on something that is ultimately a false concept, and the line is, it will be better. Maybe. The corruption required for such an open charlatan trick! If society was less prone to greed and corruption, those servers would churn cancer cures and hunger solutions.
Especially when the truth beyond the short term hype is that adopted AI will only degrade the data on which it is modeled in a guarantee of regression.
I feel like there's been so much investment in this trash that investors will refuse to acknowledge its trash, which will only lead to good things of course
They have been using telephone chat bots for years.
Every last one of them sucks ass. They are getting more sophisticated but not in anyway better at solving problems.
I don't normally play Devil's advocate, but I will here.
I think that chatbots CAN get better, but only if we abandon this idiotic technology known as GPT.
GPT can't get better for the simple reason that it's built on false ideas of how chatbots should work.
Is there any evidence that we've found a way to keep GenAI from lying? Or is this a fundamental problem with the approach that will mean its never fit for purpose. On a strictly personal level I've only once ever received an output that was accurate and complete.
