The "consistent ethic of life" was always a lie, because the opposition to abortion is about enforcing women's adherence to gender norms. If they really thought abortion was murder, they would be the nation's biggest contraception-pushers.

I'm pretty certain this is the same state that gave a guy a slap on the wrist for giving his wife/girlfriend abortion pills in her drink to kill the fetus. If the fetus had died (I don't remember if it did) would SHE be the one punished for murder?
