Diplomatic dude. I know a little about international economics. I once explained the electoral college on Mongolian TV. Climate change believes in you.

And nobody wants Mike Johnson to be the next in line, since the House would never ever approve a Harris nomination for VP.

Pundits: DEMOCRATS must sacrifice for the good of the nation. REPUBLICANS - nah, they can do fuck-all, whatever they want, nobody actually expects them to EVER do ANYTHING for the good of the nation.

idk it just seems to me that laws, like tech, should be created with the question "what would the worst person i know be able to do with this power" in mind and it's truly incredible how much this opinion fails at that basic task

We have a bunch of robins in our yard. Their biggest crime is they displace a LOT of water when they splash around in our birdbaths. But I like 'em, they have two speeds - charging, and still but ready to charge.

Should put a net-worth cap, above which you may not run or hold office. (yes, wildly unconstitutional, but we have no real constitution anymore, amirite)

Just as fearlessness isn't "not having fear" it's "keeping going in spite of your fear" being hopeful isn't "being blind to the situation" it's "continuing to push despite the odds."

Watching the GOP reaction to the Supreme Court's "immunity" decision has been instructive.

These folks don't "fear" Trump, as we've been told.

They want a dictator. They may personally despise him and his smell. But he's their best shot at fascism.

under the opinion in trump v. united states there was no need for john yoo to come up with an elaborate justification for torture. george w. bush could have ordered an interrogator to crush the testicles of a child, no questions asked.

this entire crusade against diversity in hiring and admissions is based on the supposition that all white men are necessarily more qualified than any nonwhite person or woman who might be considered for the job. like, this lawsuit more or less states that outright.

Honestly still in shock that the most crooked American President in history said "I need immunity" and the GOP Supreme Court said "well, it's nowhere in the constitution, but sure, why not? Whats the worst that could happen?"

If you're entirely focused on Biden's debate performance, you're missing the real story. Yesterday's SCOTUS decision *fundamentally* changed the nature of the presidency -- and the nation.

I keep thinking of the medium-info swing voter in 2016 who, at the last minute, decided not to go for Hillary bc she'd be consumed by scandals and investigations. The "actually it's defying the constitution and will of the voter to investigate the president" CW came too late!

One thing I think people forget is how relentlessly *stupid* every day of the Trump administration was. He doesn’t need to do a big elaborate complicated conspiracy, he can just (e.g.) email a list of every U.S. agent in the field to Putin and say it’s to own the libs, and *that* will have immunity.

I could only listen to the tone in the Spanish announcers' voices (for some reason no ENGLISH feed on FS1) and you could tell they were incredulous at the refs' decisions at multiple points, definitely including allowing the Uruguay goal to stand despite obviously being offside on VAR.
