I know people like our quirky tradition of monster raving loons and joke candidates but I think it's time to move on from that stuff now and grow up a bit.
But enough of Jacob Rees-Mogg ....

Absolutely right. Of course it does mean the racists and bigots get representation, but as long as the progressives don't stuff up they're of little consequence.
Mind you I'd say reform of the HoL should be a higher priority.

Sorry Express, there's an old saying. 'First is first and second is nowhere.'
Doesn't matter how many seats Farage came second in, there was someone who polled more votes than them.

Ghastly. Of course now they're elected they'll doubtless get even more airtime than is justified and progressively move the UK further to the right. π€¬π

I honestly couldn't believe it. I was like, "You've lived under the Tory shitshow since you were in school. Don't you think things could be improved?"
"Oh, I haven't really bothered to understand the issues."

Had a convo yesterday with a young woman (mid twenties) at a business partner about the forthcoming election. She told me she wasn't registered and didn't know what the issues were. π±
How can anyone be that disengaged.

This is how unserious things have become. The Prime Minister, sitting on a bench, all alone whilst a woman in a bikini is interviewed about her tats. FFS. π€¦ββοΈπ«£

I agree to a point. But the stupid nostalgia for paper banknotes is holding the country back.
Meanwhile, they're happy with crumbling schools and NHS; a hollowed out defence force, sewage in the rivers, high power costs, poor food quality, kids going hungry and the return of Victorian disease. π€¦ββοΈ

Point taken, however...
Maybe they'd be a little more open if the UK simply joined Schengen and Euro and supported the EU?
Given the rightward shift in european politics right now, I've no doubt the EU would be delighted to have a left leaning UK government on board.

It's astonishing. The UK would probably get a 5% economic boost immediately, would help address migration and yet he's pandering to the 25% of the electorate who will never vote for him. π€¦ββοΈ

Will no one think of the landlords?
Especially all those Tory MP landlords who are about to lose their jobs.

Agreed.
In 1991, during the First Gulf war, I ran foul of some US Servicemen who were driving on the wrong side of the road.
Head on smash, maybe 70 mph closing speed to a dead stop in the length of the car bonnet.
I walked away with cuts and bruises.

My teenage son suffers from tonic clonic seizures. At one point he had one every week almost like clockwork. Exhausting for him and all around him. Fortunately his new meds have reduced the occurrence to one seizure in the last three months. π€
