the number of times i've seen someone on here go on about how biden has dementia / is a bloodthirsty autocrat / needs to die... then i look at their bio and they're from new south wales or alberta
I don’t understand the folks who do this! I would never presume to have an opinion about the domestic politics of Canada or Australia, except perhaps sympathy at the shared yoke of bad governance. And I doubt they would welcome my opinion if I have it.
heh as a non-american in the anglosphere it's extremely difficult to tune out the play-by-play but i sure as heck have no business making normative claims about who should do what; there are an order of magnitude more of you after all and you actually have some first-order skin in the game
I agree generally with your point
Taking a more moderate POV, the US is currently the world superpower economically and militarily. What happens at your ballot boxes has direct and tangible impacts on the rest of us, so yes we do have an interest in if you choose Sleepy Joe or Crazy Donny, eh? 🍁 😉
I am fascinated by people who declare things with unmitigated confidence... ah yes, random internet fiend from northern Saskatchewan, I should absolutely model my political life in accordance with your litany of shitposts
As a dual citizen I would say non-Americans think they know more than they do about US politics and can also be insensitive with bad takes AND Americans are too sensitive and dismissive of how their own imperialism operates in other countries and how their decisions affect everyone globally.
There is some difference in Canadian vs. Australian. Prior to TV fragmenting into a million pieces, cable here meant American TV, and over-interested dummies like, cough, nobody I know, watched American news non-stop. We have not escaped contemporary brain fever.
