Carbon intensity is not a great metric - physics cares about absolute emissions, not intensity - but even by this metric big tech is doing pretty badly.

We have had numerous “canaries in the coal mine” regarding what climate change is doing to the planet. This canary is the size of a pterodactyl, and prescient considering that particular flying creature is extinct.

In a 100% renewable energy system we will have to "waste" part of the energy generated. It is too expensive to reroute every MWh, especially from solar. That is not a problem, since solar is becoming very cheap.
