Google’s emissions are up 48% in 5 years. Microsoft’s are up 30% since 2020. Those soaring figures are being driven by mass investments in data centers to power AI tools. Generative AI is a climate disaster and data center expansion must be stopped.

I'm also once again screaming SCOPE OF PRACTICE! Again, not blaming this prof. But if he'd been given a clear SOP and supported in working within it, that would've gone a long way to retaining what was clearly a highly engaged professor.

Circling back to this...one of the things that strikes me is that this prof was not prepared for the increasingly HIGHLY RELATIONAL work that is teaching in #HigherEd. Not blaming him. The institution/industry did not prepare him.

the process to receive a formal diagnosis of ADHD, austism, etc. is NOT ACCESSIBLE TO PEOPLE WITH ADHD, AUTISM, ETC. and that #HigherEd bases access to learning on this diagnostic process is truly embarrassing and shameful

I agree, but this isn't blaming individuals. It's saying that collectively, higher education is correlated with consumption. That points to systemic solutions.

One of the women I interviewed for #TheADHDBook about #ADHD and creativity (a chapter in my book) is now writing her own book on that topic.

This is what we mean when we say critical connections > critical mass.

I make these videos ONCE, make them evergreen, put them in a YouTube playlist, and use them every term. They're short, about 5 minutes, and probably have at least a few "mistakes" in each video.

I've been using videos in my online teaching for fifteen years. Reading through some student feedback today, and almost every student is mentioning how helpful my videos are to their learning experience. Simple, sustainable teaching that's good for me and good for them. #Mutualism
