2/2 Took a while because I (programmer) was looking for a data/code issue, some column or flag the skipped records had in common, as that's what usually caused this sort of thing. It took a network guy to spot the timing issue.

TBF, in my prior job, it took several of us 2 days of poring over logs to figure out why records were randomly being skipped. One server was synced just a few seconds off, and depending on how long a batch took, it *might* skip some records as "too soon", then on return, skip them as "too late".1/2
