SCOTUS in Thomas Opinion: It is appropriate and traditional to slap babies in the supermarket. SCOTUS in Roberts Opinion two years later: It’s disappointing that you didn’t read carefully and recognize we didn’t mean all babies all the time, nor in all markets. Like not a bodega. Obviously.

Thomas and Roberts would be fine with slapping babies in a bodega, but they would object to slapping them in Whole Foods.

I’m going to argue that he & others realized that if they found in favor of that scumbag the Conservative argument of “It’s the people, not the guns that are at fault” goes right out the window

"also, there are certain babies we like and those we dislike. we mean to slap the babies we dislike. we're not going to fully explain how anyone should recognize that, but just to be clear, babies we like, no slapping."

SCOTUS in Alito Opinion: "Roe imposed a detailed set of rules much like a statute or regulation...after surveying history, the opinion conducted the sort of fact-finding that might be undertaken by a legislative committee." SCOTUS in Roberts Opinion two years later: Hold our beer (not Kavanaugh's).

I really like the originalism approach to Constitutional analysis. It is just _so_ flexible that you can get any result your heart desires. Or desire even without a heart.

Thomas, dissenting from Roberts Opinion: The majority ignores the fact that the Founders not only slapped babies in bodegas, but imported them in a racially neutral manner to staff their bodegas.
