It's all about people's enthusiasm to GOTV. This debate didn't help. It's up to us to hammer enthusiasm into progressives who want to protect civil rights. There's only one choice.

Agreed. People screaming that all the press has to do is point out how bad Trump's statements are and everyone will turn from him must have been living in a cave since 2015. His supporters love that about him, and Biden haters don't prioritize it as a reason not to vote for him.
What was the point for Biden of agreeing to this “debate”? Trump was only ever going to lie. CNN’s pregame included a guy saying that Biden hadn’t fulfilled his promise to unify the country. Which, to be fair, was an astonishingly stupid goal. JoBi should have stuck to the realistic stuff
Indeed, I am well aware from childhood how cruel and selfish Americans can actually be. Lying, cheating each other, and bullying are second nature to many. They vote Trump because he is the quintessential American, cruel and contemptuous of others, like them.
Trump's biggest mistake this debate, ironically, is being unwilling to make a simple, one-sentence lie in response to "will you respect the election results" instead of going on a long series of incoherent rants.
I'm still not sure why anyone thought CNN would competently moderate a debate. Although I doubt any major media outlet can properly moderate a debate with convicted felon Donald Trump.
I was on a subreddit during the debate & was beside myself with how many ppl think Trump lying matters. If undecided voters, the same voters who will decide the election, cared that Trump lies they wouldn’t be undecided. Trump’s lies were told w/ authority & confidence & that’s what mattered tonight
