I’ve been beating this drum myself so really glad to see @jbouie.bsky.social lay it out so well here.
This isn’t a contest between two individuals; it’s a contest between two radically different agendas for the country and two very different coalitions.
Honestly, I'll probably vote Biden... He personifies everything I hate about capitalism and he deserves to be up against the wall along with the shitgibbon but... I voted for Hillary when I said I never would because evil aside, I fear the stupid and their self loathing that manifests as hate more.
Looking from outside it looks like a contest between a US governed by Poisonous Orange Tinged Scourge & a US that is not. No one who believes in decency will want a POTS in The Oval Office.
Yes! And this is precisely why Republicans turned off by Trump need to stop thinking of this in terms of *voting for a Democrat*.
It's voting to save the republic.
The sides being so clearly drawn, it's more obvious than ever that many Trump supporters are going to be voting against their own financial interests. These are people who will not be able to afford to live with less Social Security or Medicaid/Medicare. What in heck are they thinking?
Yeah, madness, poverty, and war with Biden. Peace and Prosperity with Trump. If you can't see that you haven't been watching, and swallow MSM Brainwash.
As horrible as Biden has been on the genocide in Gaza and demonizing immigrants I acknowledge that he doesn’t want a national abortion ban and his NLRB has been much more cooperative with union organizing efforts. Hopefully the uncommitted primary votes put enough pressure on him to force change
I've voted for Republican candidates more often than Democratic ones in my life, but I've never thought the D candidate would destroy the freaking country if they won POTUS.
And that's pretty much the Republican party platform as of 2020.
