During new hire orientation in NYC for a startup, we had to stand up and speak in front of the whole company to introduce ourselves. I made a George Bush “4 Brazilians died in Iraq this week” joke and I got a room of snaps in return and then they killed me.

I gotta be honest, the guy isn’t completely wrong here about people snapping. At least in my experience, it happens regularly. It’s often used as a way to agree without interrupting the speaker. That said, the snapping is the least important part about why that anicdote is full of shit.
