Every time a billionaire urges Biden to drop out, I get more enthusiastic about voting for Biden. Fuck them billionaires!

Unions love him, billionaires hate him, if I knew nothing else about him that would be enough to make up my mind lol

Hey motherfuckers, just found out my kid had post-viral myocarditis from COVID in 2022! Discovered because of constant fatigue and dizziness when standing. They now use a cane. COVID is surging again so do the damn things! I know they suck but not as much as giving someone else a heart condition.

One of conservatives top priorities is denying kids the message that they have control over their own bodies and their own sexuality because that makes it harder for pedocons like Trump to get away with raping them

Will the chaos that will ensue - not to mention Republicans seizing on the “Dems in disarray” narrative - be worth it if Biden does step aside? There’s risk in that too.

I don't have a strong preference on Biden because of how much uncertainty there is, but seeing stuff like this cross my path is going to kill me. I'm begging people to learn how parties work. You can't Aaron Sorkin your way out of this.

Among these, I always get stuck on the Senate filibuster. It did not exist in any form while the Framers were alive. The current form, in which a Senator can stop a bill permanently without doing anything, did not exist until the 1970s. But it's treated as sacrosanct.

I watched Morning Joe, just like this inaccurate stenographer. This is not what she said. She said the decision is his to make. Yes, the future tense opens a window a crack, but that is not a hint for him to reconsider. I feared The Times would wishfully run with this, as they predictably have.

One thing that keeps crossing my mind when I read about well-funded, organized, years-in-development plans like Project 2025 is, why don’t Democrats have an equivalent? Why are they not crucially pursuing a specific, crucial, transformative agenda in this manner? Seems like a problem.

So, I said what I thought needed saying about Biden, hating every minute as I did. One thing I won’t do, however, is snipe at him if he chooses to stay in. Anyone who does that is in effect campaigning for Trump — and doing so out of sheer pettiness.

My Solomonic view is that NYT—perhaps the president’s primary persecutor recently—showed its whole ass with this swiss-cheese Parkinson’s specialist story. It’s blatantly copied from right-wing charlatans, unvetted. And a nimbler White House and campaign would be making it pay dearly for that.

One other aside about all the armchair neurology: Parkinson's disease often progresses to include cognitive symptoms over time but patients with PD can live a long time with motor symptoms only. I see people on here equating it with dementia and it isn't.

All of the people indulging in these fantasy Democratic primary scenarios think that people vote reflexively because it’s what they themselves do; they don’t realize that turnout is a product of hard work. Unseen, unheralded work. By unseen, unheralded people.

The French election? It’s not that surprising. Here in Canada conservatives often win because of vote-splitting between the centre and the left; we currently have a coalition between those. I think US media is so stuck on the binary choice they forget how broad the political spectrum is elsewhere.

He doesn’t even bother to disavow Project 2025’s aims, but the fact that they’re shying away from direct association with it demonstrates that it’s a vulnerability. If the press is looking for something new and substantive to report on, they could start with the dystopia that these folks want for us
