Playing Deadzone today so decided to try out Mazon Labs now that my Star Saga box is painted. I had to quickly make a 60mm base for the Aberration, but you would never guess this is a handful of paper circles I made with a compass covered in glue and sand. #wargaming #mantic #Deadzone #StarSaga

I explain how plants only grow under specific conditions to people and if they have any experience gardening or keeping a houseplant you can see the dread slowly sinking in when they realize that even "just" a few hotter days could be devastating for food production.

I played a game of Kings of War with my 8yo. 1000 points. He took the Abyssal Dwarfs against my Goblins. The Goblins routed, but they gave a strong showing and bloodied the Abyssal Dwarfs. #KingsofWar #mantic #wargaming #affordableOldHammer

In Thailand it's especially WTF because you can only sell alcohol in a store from 11-2 and 5-12, but my friend bought these in the off hours (2-5) and the store just let him have them.

Tonight I learned that San Miguel ZERO is not 0% alcohol and I nearly flew into a rage. It's not that I don't drink, because I do, but man if I don't want to drink, don't lie to me.

God it would be so embarrassing if an author who grew up just under the shadow of apartheid South Africa looming over them maintained that "boycotting" as a policy had never been effective.

I remember my mom wrote her thesis for her BA on a literal word processor. It had a tiny LED screen where you could see a fine lines of text at a time and make edits before you hit print. It was radical technology for the time.

OK true story on this one. I *may* have eaten dog once and I'm not entirely sure if I did. It was at a restaurant in a small town in Korea that was well-known for its dog soup. We ate an evening meal and my boss ordered it, but he wouldn't tell me what the meat in the soup was.

It's not really that Starfleet counselors are useless, it's that you have no way of knowing if you're talking to your counselor or to a demonic entity that's taken possession of their body. That might create some trust issues. 🖖

Yeah there's a universal QR system in Thailand that all Thai banking apps have to integrate with so no matter who you bank with you can directly transfer between individuals or businesses. That sorts a good 99% of the issues with most digital marketplace platforms.

We're so lucky (for the moment at least!) in Thailand.
I can send a LINE message to a local shop, place an order, they'll send me a QR code, my bank app scans it and the money is transferred directly, and then a Grab bike shows up at my house within 2 hours, usually less than one.

I've finished the first two episodes and my 8yo was on the edge of his seat the whole time. I enjoyed it quite a bit as it feels a lot more Star Trek than early Prodigy S1 did but that makes sense given that it's secretly a Starfleet Academy show. The characters are more mature and the stakes higher
