I know this whole ‘hate your political allies’ thing is popular but the vast majority of Americans are ‘opposed to genocide’. Just because I have a preference between Biden and Trump does not mean that I support Israel much less the general concept of genocide.

The percentage of 'people who will openly screw with pollsters' is much higher than the usual margins of error we see on political polls, and I've always wondered how that's accounted for.

Tomorrow is the fourth. If America weren't great, we wouldn't care about keeping it. I love that our country is truly multiracial, all of us have "American" names, we care a lot less about class than other countries (in my work, this means lots of 1st gen students indistinguishable from the rest)

I feel like, aside all of the concerns about capability, if the president is directly responding to non-influential congresspeople about the re-elect it's generally not a great thing. I can't see Obama or Bush or Clinton responding directly to a comment like that.

Joe Biden is currently leading the world coalition to defeat Putin in Ukraine, and has managed to expand NATO by two countries in his term. He has articulated an extremely clear 'fuck you, leave Ukraine' position to Putin. But sure, I guess let's not have him physically wrestle Vlad?

I didn't have any issues with Bernie and was fully willing to vote for him in the general, but his 2020 staffing choices showed some real lack of judgement. Not improving from his 2016 position despite having the highest net approval with Democrats in 2020 was disastrous.

Pretty much. What it mostly boils down to is that most Americans really don’t have the faintest idea what living under modern authoritarian regimes actually looks like, and how it’s often at the same time way more boring and way more scary than they’d imagined.
