It’s mostly board games, but there’s some RPG stuff too … which is nice.

It’s pretty good. Great scenery and some fantastic performances. I immediately thought about how it would work in a game sense. I’m thinking about TotOW in a cyclic saga format like Pendragon, but instead of the whole realm, it’s your county or town.

Looking at it more closely, there are copies of the card games Guillotine and Saboteur on the table, a set of polyhedrals, some cards and a warrior mini. Never noticed them before. It is one of the hobby’s iconic covers.

Assuming the organisers want it to grow. The RPG sessions seem to be back to pre-pandemic levels. I think they'd mostly sold out, so there's more expansion there. Just not sure where they'll put them.

👍 If people only want to play D&D, that’s fine. We are in danger of forgetting that the TTRPG hobby is, or at least should be, a pleasant social activity, not a competition. Since leaving school, I’ve only ever played three sports: football, cricket and lacrosse. I guess that makes me shallow.

I don’t like change. No idea what Hall 4 looks like, but I believe it’s smaller. It felt cramped already. The open gaming space in the Hilton is ridiculously tight.
