As a professional emailer, I get inordinately frustrated when there's seemingly unnecessary friction in using core tools (document management system, VPN, version comparing software, Microsoft products). I know there are reasons, but it's tedious.

Project 2025 is bad, and it's telling how open the GOP is in discussing an awful and unpopular platform. Still, I think the lesson they learn (if they lose) will be to avoid a detailed platform. Trump 2016 and 2020 were light there. The national party hasn't had an affirmative agenda in decades.

The entire genre of dancehall (more or less) came about when a reggae producer repurposed a "rock" beat he accidentally discovered on a casio kid's toy keyboard. People recently discovered the long-anonymous Japanese woman who programmed the beat was in fact a huge reggae fan and scholar.

I really think the cultivated antipathy to Hillary, specifically, and its effect was underweighted in 2016. I had relatives who still spouted Vince Foster conspiracy theories. Who still resented her policy involvement when Bill was president. Who still nurtured those grudges, fostered by AM radio.

It's a bit problematic how Biden has (a) narrow, limited power to have his agency draw up a student loan forgiveness process consistent with the statutes passed by Congress; but (b) complete immunity to tell everyone at Dept of Edu, "mark those loans as $0 or I'll put you in a pine box."
