That’s a shame, always get a sense a city pride when I see them roll around, getting tacos while they hang around on Sunset on Sundays or before Dodger games is just great

One of my ardent rules is just to never dunk on someone’s appearance, no matter how wretched they are as a human. It’s never let me stray down the path of antisemitism, ableism, racism, and uncreative meanness, for which I am grateful.

Lego games are always a great choice when in a pinch. But your list is similar-ish to mine, and all my video game friends recommend Disco Elysium. It’s next for me after I finish my current runs through TOTK and a replay of Red Dead 2.

Last year I set out to read the red-flag-toxic-bro/hardest-English-books-to-finish trilogy in a year. Took about 4 months longer than a year (read a few things in between), but the journey’s done. Each one’s charming, funny, and astounding in unique ways. Each one moved me, and I am grateful for it.

The credits thing is silly, having to remind myself the episode is closer to 45 mins than 60 (but glad people are getting their name on things)

The reasons and motives for why might change from person to person (worked REI a few years and sometimes had to tailor talking points to advocate for Bear Ears or some place depending on the person), but public land and the NPS are probably the most popular and uniting thing America has going for it

Iconic opener, “No Surrender” makes me want to do a street takeover with my buddies, “Downbound Train” is dreamily heartbreaking, leading into the even more melancholic and spartan “I’m on Fire,” and the 1-2 closer of “Dancing in the Dark” and “My Hometown” is a hell of a coda.

Watched this the other night. Dick Miller is fantastic in it. He's got this Jack Lemmon energy going that made me sympathetic to his incel loneliness, even a little past his turn into full blown creep.

If we still have to suffer lost cause propaganda I wouldn’t mind a pivot to northern supremacy fantasies like Lincoln setting first flame to Georgia, Gen. Sheridan personally sniping Jeb Stuart, or Lee being portrayed as a sadistic psychopath

Which I should say are foundations to my love of reading, especially classic lit. I wouldn’t have been introduced to Tom Sawyer, H G Wells, Sherlock Holmes, or Jane Austin without them. There’s a mile long difference between dumbing down vs making things accessible, especially to a young audience.
