Yeah I would assume it'll involve bidding for funding from the relevant govt departments, and some private investment

Watched Farage's comments yesterday during the election of the Speaker. He starts by saying "We in Reform have no experience of this House whatsoever" and I'm like "Mate, Lee Anderson is *right there*"

Out of context, this quote looks like I'm criticising women who commentate on football, rather than men who complain about it

He can make that case, but I don't see that he can make it from a position of authority. I don't see that him making that case has any more bearing than me making it. The 1922 isn't in listening mode for Sunak

The opposition to it is pure heckler's veto, in that that councils and some MPs get spooked by the letters in criticism, because no-one writes letters in support.

Actually, wait, just gone through the recent ones and "much whiter" is probably over-egging it, but certainly whiter than the last four

That said, it's a much whiter Cabinet than we've seen in recent years though

So we've got a Cabinet that is one-third northern women. We've got a Cabinet with more people born in Sunderland than went to Eton. We've got a Cabinet that has the same proportion of privately educated people as the country at large

Just seen an article about "The Blairites who Starmer has returned to power" and the second one on the list is Douglas Alexander, as if he's not a dyed-in-the-wool arch Brownite

Oh man, I'm so curious to see that now. I do remember when I was dating an American and she told me to listen to Chapo Trap House (jesus wept) and it was the episode where they gave their takes on the 2017 GE and they were like "and all the Blairites lost their seats" and I was like "u wot m8"

The really lovely part for me is that I'm reading the exact same copies I read 30 years ago. My brother kept them all this time, dug them out recently to read to his sons, and has now given them to me

Re-reading Narnia for the first time in 30 years, and omg it's so good. When I was 7 the Christian stuff went largely over my head. Reading it now it's so beautifully done. Aslan's 'passion of Christ' scene is just magnificent

Got huge (semi-ironic) cheer from the customers today when I entered the club & returned to work after the election result. I had maybe 7 or 8 different customers who I know are Tories come up through the night & shake my hand & say variations on "Wasn't the result I'd have liked but well done mate"

It's my professional (volunteer activist) opinion that Hexham is too close to call. It's been Tory since 1907, apart from an 18month period in the '20s when it briefly went Liberal

And interviewers like Nick Ferrari aren't gonna start asking him about trans men, cos that would force them to recognise the holes in their own position

Because it's not Starmer who is leading this, he's being led by media pundits who are obsessed with asking him it. He, ultimately, doesn't know what he thinks on this, and interviewers realise it's the only area where they can make him stumble cos he doesn't have a coherent line

I've written to the Party, to the policy department, and asked them to clarify our position re Starmer's comments, cos what he's said goes directly against our manifesto pledge to uphold the Equality Act as it exists

Jonathan Ashworth demonstrated pretty well how to make anti-trans obsessive questions sound a bit silly, but of course Starmer had to insist on indulging them even more...

Starmer is wrong when he says trans women don't have the right to use women's toilets. Under the law, they do have that right. And it's a law that Labour's manifesto commits to maintaining. For a lawyer he seems very ignorant of the law.

That line "I cannot overstate how little he wanted to talk about this" is the line where she really tells on herself. I suspect she's finding more and more that people she knows just don't want to talk to her
