My question is: If Biden is willing to compromise asylum seekers' rights for political purposes, what’s to say he won't eventually compromise the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals, Black people, or other minority groups? Historically once the line is crossed it’s crossed
I don't understand why people can't get this through their heads. Biden continues to handle this in the most dangerous way. Liberals are always fine with bad actions as long a person has (D) next to their name. Nobody is giving Trump a more likely chance of victory than him and his yes men.
To be clear, as of right now his public position is very much in support of LGBT rights. But there are people who support because it's right.. and others who support because it's politically expedient.
Well, I'm not here to bell this cat, however. I think the difference is that Biden has grown from his roots, whereas the orange menace has doubled down. Utopian thought and premises are not new. At times, making all or nothing commitments has allowed the worst of times for humanity. Check history.
The Biden Administration quietly—weeks before June—banned National Park Service employees from wearing uniforms at Pride. Then kind of caved due to national pressure. Except they left us with a mess where bigots can still cancel Pride at NPS venues. Dude is not an ally.
It's what makes the "it sucks but we have to ignore Biden's support for genocide and vote for him to protect trans-people" arguments so vile.
There's absolutely no guarantee trans-people won't have to be "compromised" about in the future.
He’s also doing these things unilaterally
It’s one thing if it’s a compromise to get something important passed, if only because he can have them take the blame if it’s unpopular, but to just do it means he’s taking full responsibility for it
There’s no political cover at all
@miriam.lol Genocide Jim Crow Joe's historical voting record is absolutely abysmal. The ONLY thing it will show is contempt for black folks+self preservation being a POS politician. Mind you this is since 1973. I can't stand Biden on so many levels and the DNC should be ashamed pushing him on us.
