JERRY: She's a ten! But the mole… ELAINE: That's it? A mole?? JERRY: A ten can't have a mole! GEORGE: A nine…? A nine could have a mole… [Maya Angelou enters, applause] MAYA ANGELOU: See to the slickness of your floor, Jerome. Easily I could slip coming through the door as swiftly as I've just done.

"But like, even our most base animal state is already domesticated, y'know? Like ever since we started with agrarianism, the animal part of us has been gradually tamed." So true bestie but wasn't this chapter supposed to be about Ford or something

Man is just hopping from one train of thought to the next. "Did you know, in the south, in the most devout Catholic parts of Italy, some 30% of people engage in incest?" Damn Gramsci, that's crazy. "You ever feel like industrialisation causes us to repress our animalism?" I mean yeah, but what

I actually think Marx would really dig his theories of alienation being applied to a book in which a man fucks a cow, actually.

Yeah tbh if we still lived in Ireland, I don't think we'd have a baby right now. We just never had the job stability and quality of life back home that we have here.

looking back, i tried to do the best with the gender i was dealt because i legit didn’t know i had any other options. i was such a depressed little kid & teenager though. i was extremely dysphoric & had no way to understand what was happening. forcing any child to experience that pain is evil.

Seriously though!! It was a huge factor in us moving to Germany, where they actually have decent tenants' rights, but even Berlin is getting kinda shitty these days for people looking for housing. It sucks!

I have an app just because I suck at time keeping, so I like being able to be like "Oh, I should probably change your nappy". But I got myself so stressed like "Should I do baby led weaning?? What foods should I give her??" when it absolutely is not that deep! Weaning has actually been fun!

Same shit under a different name. I've heard of people going to view apartments and every other viewer is just an agent working for a vulture firm. The only buildings being erected in cities are hotels, which quickly become full of homeless families with nowhere to live. It's so fucking grim.

lil drunk and emotional over the fact that Sylvia is almost a year old, because the start of that year AGH oh man. I hope someday I can forgive myself for everything I felt when I had postpartum depression. Surviving a whole year seemed so impossible.

That is such bad advice!! 2 WEEKS?! Lord have mercy, we barely have set nap times now and she's almost 11 months haha I just base everything off when she wakes up, which is predictable-ish but, y'know, she's a baby. Sometimes she's teething, sometimes something else!

Idk I'm super lucky because she eats and sleeps (at night at least, naps have always been dodgy) without much issue. Anyway. I love her and I probably will never shut up about this stuff.

I was so stressed out about stuff like sleep training and weaning and whatever, but in the end I just followed Sylvia's lead and it's been fine. Tbf she's a very chill baby but honestly acceptance has been the biggest salve to my mental health this past year.

I think the only relevant advice to give someone about to have a baby is that the baby is just gonna do whatever and you have to be along for the ride. Like you can have so many grand plans but you can't really control them more than you can control anyone else!

Also if you don't see why some education in the humanities is relevant to a STEM degree, then I don't trust you in any STEM career!

I had absolutely no interest in the middle ages when I started my degree. HATED doing Middle English at first. By graduation, I fucking loved it. I still love it. If you engage with something and actually challenge yourself, you can discover things about yourself. Shocker!!

One of the reasons why I have no sympathy for STEM losers who are like "I was forced to do a humanities subject even though it isn't relevant to my degree so I deserve to cheat/plagiarise/use AI to pass" is that yeah, everyone has to learn shit they don't care about sometimes. Grow up.

I'm largely enjoying (or at least not hating) Eric, but it's wild that they've made New York seem so incredibly small when the peril really depends on a needle in a haystack situation. How are they going to find a missing kid in a vast metropolis? It's OK, it's actually just a few blocks.
