Yep, Harris really is the only actual alternative and putting her on the top of the ticket just 4 months ahead of the election would really just be throwing her under the bus and likely destroying any political future she otherwise have.

He's also correct that the 4 years under Biden were FAR BETTER for working people than the 4 years under Trump. The election is a choice between another term of Biden or another term of Trump and anyone who cares about their future would rightly choose Biden.

Truman dropping out in 1952 and Johnson dropping out in 1968 didn't exactly lead to Democratic victories either. I never liked Biden but it was obvious in 2020 that the party made an 8 year commitment to him, the time to keep Biden off of the ballot was in 2020.

I tell you what. Senior citizens do not like seeing one of their own disrespected by trump. The way he talked to Biden was horrifying and trump kept insulting the country. Home viewers who don’t follow Trump on the daily were repulsed by Trump as they should be.

Here's what I keep coming back to. Replacing Biden with another candidate would grant the central premise of Trump's campaign, that Sleepy Joe is asleep at the wheel and MIA. No political party has ever won a US election by granting their opponent's premise. Doing so demonstrates weakness.
