What is striking to me is that no one who is Dem or anti-Trump of any stripe is happy about this decision even though it applies to Biden right now. Pro-Trump people are extatic because Trump is a criminal. That tells you all you need to know about the Republican party.

I know it's been said many times already but no one is going to save us but us. It sucks mightily that Biden is the only realistic option, but that's what we are dealing with because the orange asshole, with the help of SCOTUS, will dismantle everything. Hell, they've already started.

This debate is a prime example of how profoundly we are ill equipped to deal w/the rise of authoritarianism. Letting blatant lies fly. Doing nothing to follow up on lies & ignoring questions. Normal rules don't apply. We need to think--CLEARLY--about the best ways to clear the air & support truth.

I wish I could have such an optimistic view of voters, but I heard way too many Dems and independents say, "but her emails" in 2016 because they were looking for a reason, any reason, to vote for Trump. We are an incredibly misogynistic and racist country and Harris checks both of those boxes.

This just means access is safe for now. They will find someone who has better standing, and when they do, they will find a way to bring the case in Amarillo so that they will get back to SCOTUS.

Listening to The New Abnormal and Jonathan V. Last is going on about how protesting by blocking bridges is wrong as if he'd never heard of the Edmund Pettus Bridge. I follow The Bulwark because they are anti-Trump but I sometimes forget that they are still Republicans.
