It’s so cool when game creators branch out into other media. For example, the creators of Myst designed the shower controls in this AirBnB.

Gonna love it the first time some fascist fuck is making Sunday dinner and they run out of something and then go apoplectic because supermarkets are all closed on Sundays.

Sometimes I wonder how many times I’ve had COVID-19. One that I know of (May 2023), but who knows how many asymptomatic or “this feels like a mild cold for 1-2 days” instances I’ve had.

The very worst thing about social media, including this site and the Bad Site and every other site, is the illusion that by posting on it you’re accomplishing anything.

Also what percentage of potential attendees would decide not to attend, which would affect the percentage who attend and wear masks (but also affect the event’s finances).

“Their stock price went down very slightly” IMO doesn’t equate to “this decision has hurt them financially”. Might need to wait for their earnings report for the Jul-Sep quarter to draw that conclusion. (Certainly would be a nice outcome, tho.)

I think I agree. Carter has had such a rich life I’m sure he’d be a great conversationalist. Obama I can believe could talk knowledgeably about almost anything I’d want to talk to him about. Maybe including science fiction. Biden… not sure.

1. Ask/write down questions about hazy aspects of your story 2. Then, spend some of your down time in silence (commute, chores, shower) with those questions. 3. The brain hates unfinished tasks: it will allocate a lot of resources to solving plot holes, character relationships, pacing, etc.

Comic book creator John Byrne declared his web forum a “Wikipedia-free zone” (or words to that effect) and I always suspected it was because he wanted to make it harder for people to use actual information to disagree with him.

Let's be clear, when mayors say they want to ban masks for "safety", they couldn't care less about public safety. What the mean is they want to see faces for surveillance purposes. They care about criminalizing your right to protest not your health or safety.

While I doubt this is the only reason, I suspect there is a significant “we don’t want people wearing masks in public because it fucks with our surveillance state policies” component.
