People are like "there's no point in posting it doesn't make a difference to anything," 8 years after Donald Trump posted his way to the presidency of the United States

I agree THE APPRENTICE was key to Trump's rise but there's also a reason no other reality show hosts became President bsky.app/profile/unti...

That’s naive. Trump dominated by mass amplification efforts/networks, juicing algorithms and his dominance in every news cycle. You can’t you won’t have any affect on Twitter x except get drawn into their world view and their narrative. We need alternative channels & platforms.

I'm sorry but he didn't win by tweeting he won by constant uncritical cable news coverage of every racist ejaculation that came out of his little prolapsed asshole of a mouth

The Apprentice was clearly more important to his rise and his victory than posting though. In fact, the general public, including Republicans, were generally annoyed by his posting all through his presidency.

“there’s no point in posting. social media doesn’t affect politics. Anyway on an unrelated note, meme candidates are collapsing democracy across the western world for some reason”

A lot of people just don't have the influence. With enough followers, yeah, you can make stuff happen, but I interpreted it as actually go out and organize/do something tangible instead of posting thinking the few hundred people who follow you have any real impact.

It definitely had nothing to do with the undemocratic Electoral College or the decades long gerrymandering project by Republicans…
