Staking my space, just in case, but not expecting to be here much yet.
If I am, it will be occasional writing and a lot of bollocks.
A LOT of stupid bollocks.

All episodes of Fags, Mags and Bags are the humour but this week's musical version made me laugh like a drain.
Worthy of a Ritter Sport.

Oh hey y’all guess what I have a new book coming out in March 2025 & you can pre-order it if you want!
You can do so from anywhere, I recommend your local indie, but meanwhile here’s Macmillan’s link us.macmillan.com/books/978125...

Across the internet all you can hear are 'sensible' chatterati column writers ripping up their prepared gleeful "How could France have sunk so low?" articles.

Those good old days were often that way due to needing to film twenty five minutes of telly on a Friday when you had no script on the Saturday before and deciding that anything you could write that could be made out of stuff already in the props cupboard would do. There was no time for drugs.

The Girl Who Cried is about kelpies, except it's really about going back to visit your old teen summer camp, except it's really about memory and nostalgia and old wounds that cannot heal, and I can't wait for people to read it when Gallus launches!

For those who don't know: this is James Timpson of Timpson key cutters/shoe repairs/dry cleaners. His company employs ex-convicts and even runs work training programmes in prisons. Genuinely inspired choice.

Here in Scotland we get PR for the Scottish devolved elections but FPTP for the UK election. It's infuriating to know that it can be done fairer but the "big boys" who run the UK don't want it as they'd have to play nicely with others.

Exactly. The only place they did get an increase in votes was up here and still FPTP makes it look so much more dramatic than it was.

They've got two years until the next Scottish elections, should know by then if they are actually left of centre or are really sticking with Tory lite as they appear to be.

Yes. And it makes it look like a huge Labour win, when it was really a modest improvement while the Tories imploded, going from 43 to twenty something percent. Glad the Tories are gone, but I can still hate the system.

From the Guardian. Really helps to show how FPTP is a hideous system where going from 32 to 33 percent is going from historic loss to historic win.

Truss has gone!
And Dross didn't get elected.
I'll take that.
Very glad the Tories are out, will hold my concerns about Labour until they do something, even if I have no real idea what that'll be.

Morning.
Looks to be great joy at the Tories getting a thrashing although I'll admit disappointment at the SNP.
Also disgust at Reform getting in but some pleasure to see Labour being hit by independants and Greens.
A complex set of feelings for this time in the morning.

Well they did arrange it so the postal ballot system struggled as all those on holiday suddenly had to apply for one. AND they've run the country for 14 years. So it must be someone else's fault it isn't working properly and is surely biased and woke.

Oh, and final scores on the doors, flyer wise, for this election, a 2 voter household: Labour: 4 SNP: 2 ISP: 1 Scottish Family Party: 1 Tories: 5 Hopefully the only win the Tories will get today.

If you don't promise nothing, you can't fail to deliver it. As the Tory alternative is promise everything, deliver nothing, at least it's an alternative but not exactly an exciting one.

Thought I was being ignored for flyers this week but just got a Labour one through the door. Of course, all it says is "Change" so clearly they have no policies worth shouting about. On the theory that, if you have nothing good to say, say nothing, I think I prefer the others who didn't bother.
