Maybe Biden’s not talking about court reform because he thinks it’s strategically risky to set that priority before the election, but if so, that’s a Chamberlain level error.
💯
The corrupt courts are a winning issue!
Politically! And electorally.
It’s a fundamental misunderstanding of modern politics and it has to be said- this stems from his principal strategic adviser, Anita Dunn.
I expect it's less that and more Biden wants to see a majority of Dems in Congress call for it before coming out for it himself.
He's a guy who, if nothing else, understands presidential power, and what happened in the 30s. A POTUS saying the SCOTUS "undermined the rule of law" still pretty strong
Whenever Democratic leaders occasionally get up the nerve to advocate a little for democracy, literally the next thing they do is business as usual, which always deflates whatever urgency their words created. And makes them look like cheap points scorers.
We can’t vote our way out of this forever.
I disagree. Swing and undecided voters don’t care about court reform because they think it means Biden wants to do bad things too. They do care that no one is above the law.
Biden needs to keep saying:
"I'm running for President, not king. If you want a king, vote for the convicted felon."
