What distortion?! Nobody said anything about Biden’s amazing performance. Good thing spreading unrealistic ideas about a candidate to replace Biden that doesn’t exist (no distortion there!) won’t affect you in Australia.

Biden’s performance wasn’t what people wanted, but what people *saw* has been exaggerated to manufacture drama & try to upend our election in the US over 1 debate. Also, yada yadaing Trump’s performance is distressing since he is the only other choice.

Sherrod won’t withdraw, he will lose because there will be less voter turnout without a Dem candidate on our ballot. It’s already a tight race. Replacing Biden for a fantasy candidate over a debate where Trump spewed straight nonsense the whole time is the absurd overreaction.

The fantasy candidate will have few resources four months before the election, be up against a well funded MAGA apparatus to use the media to raise some other “emergency” reason the candidate is not worthy of Dem votes, and the same percentage of voters will fall for it.

Also, since you think that Ohio doesn’t matter in the face of the fact he can’t be really be replaced on our ballot by August 7, I don’t think you can or want to be convinced that replacing Biden cannot really happen easily and will have severe negative consequences.

Here is one thought on magically replacing Biden. Ohio is one thing, the GOp lawsuits all over the country preventing a new nominee on the ballot are another. Also, invalidating all primary results will not be as awesome as imagined: www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcn...

How quickly do you think paperwork and certification can be accomplished, keeping in mind our gerrymandered gov WANTS to keep any dem off the ballot, if possible, no actual candidate has been agreed upon here in July, and they will need to go through similar processes in multiple states?

Who is the new nominee the Dems *agree* will work for all 50 states without Biden’s proven track record and will *win* without all the funds that Biden has been raising, which aren’t just transferable? When will the make this official, b/c the deadline for getting a candidate on the ballot is aug 7

Giving up on Ohio means giving up on the senate, since we have a Democrat senator up for re-election. Sherrod’s opponent is fully MAGA and will serve the Project 2025 agenda. It also means we won’t be able to pass the gerrymandering amendment, which is why you think Ohio isn’t a swing state.

GPT is crap and clearly hasn’t absorbed the laws in all states, because it is not designed to inform, but to absorb the data you enter into it, plus it is just a chatbot. Here is an article on the convention to get Biden on the ballot in Ohio: ohiocapitaljournal.com/2024/05/28/d...

The July convention vote was the emergency option. LaRose would love to have a reason to leave the Dem candidate off the ballot, b/c we have a Dem senator up for reelection and an anti-gerrymandering issue on the ballot. No dem candidate will further suppress voter turnout.

If the July vote for Biden doesn’t happen to make him official, we won’t have a Dem candidate on the Ohio ballot. The deadline is Aug 7. That’s just one example of the blow back of this rhetoric. Candidates have been replaced in history where it’s been a disaster. Biden’s also a good incumbent pres

Ohio has a law that the candidates must be selected 90 days before an election. The convention was happening 2 weeks after the deadline, but they were going to hold an early online convention vote in July to get Biden on the Ohio ballot. If the vote is pushed out, no Dem pres on the ballot in Ohio.

There was no GOP party platform in 2020, and Trump wants to shrink the proposed 2024 one. He opposes providing detail on how radical his second term will be because he knows its unpopular.
Make no mistake: Project 2025 was written by Trump appointees & loyalists. Its their shared agenda.

When you see the way the press is treating Joe Biden for aging in public, you see how they could treat Donald Trump for committing fraud, rape, espionage, and insurrection and never, ever will.

If Biden doesn’t stay in the race, Ohio will not have a Dem pres on the ballot. There is no way another candidate will get on the ballot in all 50 states and be able raise competitive funds in 4 months. Calling for Biden to withdraw is a plot to elect Trump.

I don't take the age thing seriously. THEY PICK A LIE ABOUT EVERY DEM, and the press knows it's some BS but plays along. They know that the other guy is worse in every way, especially his brain. They turned being a war hero into a liability against a fortunate son draft dodger.

Hard to think of a clearer case of witness tampering than putting a clause expressly forbidding cooperation with law enforcement in Weisselberg’s $2 million severance agreement, but it hasn’t been charged.

There's a whole trend among reactionary centrists and reporters to claim "but PPP is different, student loans weren't meant to be forgiven." Except they were. Congress gave the relevant agency broad powers to modify student loans, just the same as PPP. www.federalregister.gov/d/2023-13112...

I keep hearing the Christian right is "criticizing" Trump for his abortion statement.
That's what happens when people repeat what they heard and don't check for themselves.
I checked. Evangelicals aren't mad, but stoked. They know he'll ban abortion.

What a lot of people also need to get in their heads is that rape victims this young are not uncommon. On the contrary, a stranger rapist like this won't be as likely go after a 17-year-old, much less a 20-year-old. Grown women fight back.

More from me tomorrow, but this piece gets at something I wish more folks talked about: Trump's intense self-interest in defining rape solely as "dark-skinned strangers attacking white women."
