really cannot emphasize enough how plainly all this proves that the first priority of the next Democratic administration needs to be democracy reform
--filibuster
--electoral college
--court reform
--dc and pr statehood
--new voting rights act
--gerrymandering

This was my list on the other site.
Figuring the electoral college would be hard to dismantle, I think we should make voting
1) a paid national holiday
2) ranked choice
3) compulsory
That would buy Dems enough time to push major policy like the ACA and IRA - things that benefit millions.

The States Project is one of the best bang-for-your-buck options for your campaign donations.
Even beyond it, though, state legislatures deserve your attention. Next time you're tempted to send money to whoever's going to lose to MTG, send it instead to a contested state leg seat.

Trump lost by 3 million votes in 2016 and 7 million in 2020.
These are razor thin margins, but America seems to still be on the side of "sanity".
Can't let up now!

Failing to defend your accomplishments doesn't affect those accomplishments.
Changing candidates now will split the party and hand the Presidency to Trump.
I can't even imagine doing this 4 months before the most important election of our time.

That this is coming up now is just bonkers.
Proof that Dems may be able to govern, but they suck at popularity contests.
Or election logic in general.

Is it any real surprise that, in America, it's illegal to not be a capitalist (i.e. poor).
We've penalized the poor for our entire history.
What's depressingly humorous is this attitude has finally yeilded a generation that will never have wealth.
Sorry kids!

We need an empathetic human to address the social shortfalls of modern corporate/consumer capitalism that is also will to be a ruthless asshole in order to fight the system.
That personality type does not run for public office in general, and specifically not for the Presidency.

Fortunately, in about 6 months, we might not have a Federal Government any more!

If you're heterosexual, not poor, and not someone of color, you'll probably be ok(ish).
If you're anything else, you could possibly be illegal in a few months.
(and and we might also not have a Federal government in a year)
