It's not just girls. I hate when it happens to me. I'll be hyper focused on a task, get up from my desk, and realize my legs are jelly, my hands are shaky and it's WAY later than I thought it was. Don't recommend.

Cisco has Ethical Hacker training for free. Neat! Just did an exercise where they have you search job boards for pentesting jobs, entry level, to see what kinda exp and certs they ask for. One Pentesting job came up, "Entry level - requires 14 years of pentesting experience." Sigh.

TW: Ableism. It is absolutely a disability. Being unable to do a thing because my brain just says "nah" no matter how bad I WANT to do the thing...is not a superpower by any stretch. I've been denied a Yankee White clearance and a promotion because of it. It's not a fucking superpower.

Then I'm reading online and I see a reminder that the tech industry, one that I love, absolutely sucks in its treatment of women, trans or otherwise, and it makes me profoundly sad. I hate the male-dominated aspect of it, and wish they'd treat women better, qualified for the job or not.

Sigh. The bridge collapse hits hard anyway (my new adopted home state, but the impact on human lives hits hard regardless). Just found out a dear friend of ours passed away, and I can't go to the funeral because I'm in Germany.

The crew definitely TRIED. They sent out a mayday call, which allowed local authorities to stop traffic from crossing the bridge. They even tried to drop anchor to slow down/stop. It was simply too late - that much weight is hard to stop, and was gonna mess up anything it hit.

This. The thing weighs as much as a skyscraper. That ship was fucking up ANYTHING it runs into. Bridges aren't immune. It was a mechanical failure on the ship. The crew did what they could to mitigate, but it was too late.
