I grew up on military bases all over the US, many rural. The book-mobile was the only access we had to children’s books. But imagine life with libraries like this?! That’s a society that cares about people, wants them to thrive.

Watched the Steve Martin documentary on Apple TV. Loved it, although you need to set aside a few nights to watch it all. The second episode is full of contemplative stuff, much incredibly relatable.

Enrollment is down to the point where the school cannot exist. What does that say about our society, our cultural values that we allow art institutions to no longer exist and AI industrialization takes favor. I am sickened.

It is confirmed that the 100+ year old art institution, The American Academy of Art in Chicago, the school of Andrew Loomis, Howard Terpning, Haddon Sundblom, Richard Scmid, Alex Ross, and so many influential other artists is now closing permanently…

The art school I went to, the American Academy of Art in Chicago, over 100 years old, is going out of business. They didn’t do well during the pandemic and now new student enrollment is so low they are forced to close forever. I can’t help but think people are not signing up due to AI concerns. 😭😫

We watched “Under Paris” last night on Netflix. All I can say is if you’re looking for a so-bad-it’s-good kind of flick similar to Snakes on a Plane, you’ll probably enjoy this one. 🦈😅😜

Listening to fireworks across the city, watching from my back window. I’m so proud to live in San Francisco, the city where one fine day Gavin Newsom said fuck it I’m going to start same sex marriages at city hall. It was amazing. 😭 Be proud of who you are and know you are loved. Happy Pride!

Today I saw a crazy person stop a car in the road, get on the hood, scream at the people inside while she took her clothes off. The two ladies inside were terrified so I called the cops. They detained her. Now back at my desk trying to paint pretty things. 😬😵‍💫🎨👩‍🎨

I have small paintings in the works, six different 5x5 pieces. But I have all these very unruly internal voices shouting at me about how dumb they all are. My whole life I’ve not felt this way. I think it is the fallout of AI worry, the election, the absurdity of it all. How does anyone turn it off.
