Affinity are extending their trial period to 6 months if you'd like to see if you can use it as an alternative to Adobe products. And if you like it, it's a one off payment not a monthly fee. I did all my cover design in Affinity Designer and the paperback formatting in Affinity Publisher.

Something I learned yesterday is that all these ousted MPs are entitled to various types of severance pay, much more generous than statutory redundancy pay. It's going to be a costly payroll this month.

A total of four seats for the Greens, up from one, and Lib Dems up a massive 61 from 8. There's a story there, and the story is there are people who are left-leaning, but cannot vote for labour with a clear conscience. (Climate change ignored and anti-trans rhetoric.)

I have just finished an ARC of Lake of Darkness by Adam Roberts. It’s a dense commentary on us as humans. It’s imagive, funny, thought provoking and Roberts at the top of his game. I want to read it again to enjoy it some more.

They don't automatically prompt people to sign up for anything, no. StoryGraph is quite good with GDPR and expressly forbids you to sign your winners up to anything without their permission. You could politely point out you have a newsletter when you contact winners about prizes though.
