Neith’s striking concept is buttressed by the unflinching description of the main character’s every dying bodily sensation and, coupled with the dark, awkward, and pointedly sadomasochistic relationship that develops between killer and victim.

Some surreal news: MAD SISTERS OF ESI is headed to the US.

Thank you to the brilliant Navah Wolfe and to @dawbooks.bsky.social for loving and believing in this novel. Thank you also to the amazing Cameron McClure, who really is the best agent you could ask for. The month of May was a whirlwind.

I finished the Pandominion duology by M.R. Carey, and it’s definitely a setup book followed by a payoff book. I often prefer the setup books, but the quality is good throughout www.tarvolon.com/2024/07/06/s...

I have just read the Hearth Witch series by Delemhach - starting with The House Witch And The Enchanting of the Hearth and ending with The House Witch And When The Cat Spells War. Had to order the sequels when only half way through the first. Read all the way round the dog walk. That kind of read.

About halfway through Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. Very much on the fence about this one. I don’t read romance and I’m not sure it’s a genre I enjoy, but the fantasy elements and plot line is very interesting and exciting. I love the dragons as characters. (Mostly audiobook)

Hue and Cry, by Patricia Wentworth. Really enjoyable Golden Age adventure, rather Buchanesque. Indomitable young woman pursued by criminals who've framed her for jewel theft, believing she stole incriminating papers. Narrow escapes and lucky meetings with helpful people.

Afternoon Womble. We’re doing fine back in the Auld Sod. I’m working my way through the second book in the Three Body Problem series. Following this, I’m revisiting Iain Bank’s debut, The Wasp Factory, 40 years since its publication. May the Lord have mercy on me.
