Apparently, by asking what the word meant in this context and whether it was about the shape of the sausages, I was dictating what does and doesn't count as one and imposing my values on other countries? I don't know. I blocked him and carried on chatting about sausages with about six other people.

Why did I never think of this? That's awesome. I guess I thought they all just kind of ... went into the detectors and the detectors ate them or they became other, exotic particles which the detectors detected and then they vanished in a burst of E=mc^2 energy or something.

Took a bowl with a little uneaten mashed potato in it to the food waste bag to scrape it. The bowl JUMPED OUT OF MY HAND and BOUNCED AROUND THE KITCHEN FLOOR. The bowl ended up in the food waste. The potato did not end up in the food waste.
