They have managed a huge majority on a very slender and largely borrowed mandate. A recipe for disaster.

I am sure that did not help but the key factor was Farage putting his Reform foot in and standing against them because they did Brexit "wrong".

It was Brexit that brought the Conservatives down and it will be Brexit that brings Labour down.

So do you think Labour should protect the party by ditching Starmer before the population gets wise to the con trick he has played on them?

It's a vicious kick in the teeth for millions of Lib Dem, Green, SNP, and Plaid Cymru voters who have lent their vote to Labour in order to get the Tories out. If they ignore you now they will ignore you in the future.

Sad that the immunity from prosecution enjoyed by the monarch which was the driving reason behind the early settlers of the American Continent is now the prerogative of the American President. Can we expect asylum seekers from the USA?

Wonderful, Redwood writes an article with woeful lack of reality telling us about the success of Brexit and the Telegraph illustrates it with a photo of a Brexit Queue of lorries. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/07...

There is something seriously wrong with the postal voting system. In the last week I met three people whose vote did not arrive before they went on holiday, one person whose vote had not arrived. In addition I spoke to one person whose neighbours voting packs did not arrive.

With the SNP and Labour roughly equal and Labour sitting plum on the rest of the UK there is no longer any need for SNP voters to vote tactically for Labour to get the Tories out.

Today's example was tiresome and bereft of value. At least when they involve the smaller parties they are interesting but the two big lardiepants were shouty, rehearsed beyond interest and the ref was hopeless.

It's a bit rich Reform campaigning in the General Election when they have spent the best part of a decade telling us that a vote in 2016 was a once in a lifetime vote.

I watched Question Time yesterday evening. I found Sunak compelling viewing, could not drag my eyes away. After a night's sleep I have realised why. The audience hated him and he hated the audience.

He will have a mandate post election, unfortunately that mandate will be not to join the Single Market, not to re-establish Freedom of Movement and not to make ant overtures towards rejoining. His hands will be tied and he will be a hostage to fortune.

This is getting very sketchy for the Conservatives, they are in danger of playing second fiddle to Reform and giving Labour an easy ride. The thinking Conservative will vote Lib Dems to give Britain an effective opposition.

It's a strategy that will lose the next election and further degrade the standing of politicians. In effect you are saying he is lying in order to win an election.
