One thing i remember from sesame street is it would explain just casual adult things to kids. The appearance by Siskle and Ebert where they explain for kids what a critic is and basically how to critique fiction stayed with me

unironically the muppets were great for teaching kids about how to watch a film and be narrative literate. both from being able to walk them from Sesame street to more adult programing and reminding them/explaining what fiction and suspension of disbelief is.
