There’s a heavy evangelical presence in the Air Force officer corps, but I think the enlisted are more balanced because a lot of the jobs are like normal office work and computer stuff. If you ignore the SEALs, navy always seemed like the most enlightened and diverse branch to me.

I’m in MA and have been noticing a variety of bumblebees and some honeybees. Heat can be a stressor for bee colonies, maybe the heat wave depressed their numbers somewhat.

Happy #FossilFriday! Did you know that many theropod dinosaurs have thick pads on the bottom of their feet? Much like the paw pads of dogs and cats, these probably helped cushion their footfalls and assisted in gripping the ground when running. (1/2)

I grew up hearing about the Pacific sardine fishery collapse, and then the conventional wisdom seemed to be that we’d figured out how to fish sustainably. Populations crashed again, so clearly it’s a system we don’t fully understand yet

Always as they're affected by the lens. It's a fun challenge and it makes it feel more real--kind of like how people put reflective objects in still lifes to make them look more flamboyant. Depending on the prescription and the angle, sometimes you only need to add a bit of gloss.
