Is that maybe The Problem Child 2, where kids on a fairground ride all have to projectile vomit simultaneously?
... Man, the amount of not-so-helpful movie moments I'm remembering right now - but maybe there's catharsis in it

Oh, and The Andromeda Strain, about an alien virus that crystallizes your blood. I mostly just remember the snippet where a female scientist gets hypnotized by the blinking alarm light, thus failing to find the cure (?).
and The Night of the Creeps, tho' cheating a bit b/c I never forgot the title

I can totally see Jabberwocky squicking people if they watch it under the wrong circumstances... Sorry to hear it, I thought it was quite hilarious. Lifelong Monty Python fan, not their best movie though.

Same here! Also the shameless unabashed glee of the pirates as they murder boating tourists and a Coast Guard boat. Caine then machine guns the lot of them at the showdown, which strangely doesn't make things much better. Ugh.

On that note, I'm still wondering if there's really a sci-fi-ish movie where a gang of helmeted bad guys with submachine guns stand in a circle mowing down some good guys? If that rings a bell for anyone, please please tell me - maybe an episode from The Invaders? [V - Die Außerirdischen in German]

The Island, featuring Michael Caine. Creeped me out unspeakably when I watched at age 12 maybe? Hazy memories & its obscurity prevented me from finding out *what* exactly I had watched ... until I figured out the right google queries just a few months ago. Rewatched it. It is disturbing pish indeed

Depends on the setup - what effect do you want to achieve? We have Magnus, the chess genius, the obviously clueless narrator, and maybe a third person? Is this for comedic effect, or are you going for a philosophical metaphor?

Here's my attempt, a bit more flowery but disentangles the situation for me, maybe it helps -
Magnus moved his queen. Checkmate. With a confident smile he said to me, "there was one other winning move". Not knowing chess, but knowing Magnus, I knew - whatever piece he'd have gone for, ... 1/2

Yes, just shout "move it!" in a very loud voice repeatedly, indicating the direction with both arms. Be aware that clouds have huge inertia though, so observing their initial movement vector and reinforcing that tends to get better results. Also, call your local utility to reverse wind turbines.
