Because of our brain wiring, stimulants tend to cause sleepiness when taken in low/regular doses, and when taken to get high, tend to not last as long. Back in the day, my friends would take E and go clubbing, while I would take E and go to bed.

We all read well above grade level, so our inability to do homework or assigned reading was because we were "lazy" and "undisciplined". By the time of highschool, our grades started to slip, but that too was just a result of our laziness about homework...

For a lot of us, it's not that our parents were necessarily ashamed of having a child with a learning "disability," it's that "people with learning disabilities are dumb, and my child is a straight A student, so they cannot possibly have ADHD".
