Vote. Also knock on doors, volunteer for campaingns. Get involved locally. Go to meetings, work with others, make your own community safer, better, more organized. Know what's on school board agendas. Show up and comment. Give politicians a reason to know what you want, and why they should care.

Biden could now legally send the military to take over the supreme court and block all further actions as an official act. And congress would be too paralyzed to stop it. That is how they do things in the "democracies" down south where this stuff usually passes. You all mine as well get used to it.

Ignite a conversation.
Ask the sales associate if they are registered to vote.
If yes, say thank you as I'm certain you understand the stakes.
If no, same as above.
Talk to people.

Really cannot emphasize enough the emotional benefit of picking a spot where you can have an outsize impact and digging in to really work on it in addition to your other efforts. My contributions to protecting anonymity online have been SUCH a motivator for avoiding despair.

I can’t tell you how it gives me hope to hear people say this who normally don’t get involved in politics, or at least aren’t usually vocal about it. I’m so tired of hearing people say “I don’t talk about politics”, which basically means anything that matters.

And if you want to laugh in my face, IDGAF. But while you're laughing, try to remember this: We're in this situation because people on the other side spent 30-40 years doing that kind of thing.

If I may add: also sign up to be a poll worker, if your schedule, life circumstances, etc permit. Can't speak for everywhere, but around here they're always looking for more people. And then you don't just get to vote, you make it easier for several hundred other people to vote, too.

Also, you can freelance persuading voters any public place people congregate/pass by. In my experience people are waaaaay more open to a conversation about the candidates on the sidewalk than when you knock on their door with a list in your phone. Be nice.

Also, if you are able-bodied, please sign up to be a poll worker. It is exhausting (and definitely wear a mask because I always got sick after) but it is so, so important to have smart, competent people working the polls.

The "show up and comment" is terribly important right now. We don't just need to elect Democrats, we need to elect Democrats who will do the fucking work.

I mean yeah, organizing locally is the way to really address this. Your ability to affect federal elections and federal courts is pretty minimal as an individual. But if you can unionize a bunch of places and take over your city council so can start really building power.

I think in long term democrats probably should start pushing for a strong path to citizenship for all immigrants. It would straight up push Texas and Florida into play, and it's already what they get accused for.
