If a joint hurts after you overuse it, it’s not likely to be an autoimmune condition. Autoimmune diseases like RA and lupus tend to cause stiffness in AM and get better with use. If it hurts to exercise but you are otherwise fine, it’s more likely a mechanical issue - not inflammatory

I dunno, proving that sounds…. Hard? Plus, the cops won’t have anything to put on a table, and no one to subdue physically. And uuugh, there would have to be a court case where they don’t get coerced into a guilty plea, and all the appeals and… eh, is it really worth the effort….?

This is basically what I’d take away as well. Essentially, do what is feasible for the situation, but don’t bend over backward to do one over the other (ie extra access)

Seeing 2 things: 1) notice this study was the BLING trial. Well done. 2) while not significant, authors arguing that this is still c/w benefit. Thus, this is sure to result in insufferably long MICU rounds discussions about what amounts to a negligible difference.

Let me guess the context… did some small study in the last few years suggested continuous was better, people switched to this as a standard, and this was the first real trial addressing the question? Gonna go google it now, but staking my bet before checking.

I mean, with pre-existing inflammatory conditions, I don’t know how you’d even begin to sort out what is long COVID vs flare of disease. That’s challenging clinically, and extrapolating to research seems it’d be impossible to disentangle (and no, I would put no credence in ICD10 codes here)
