Right, it’s nice to have alternatives for those with health problems. Like stevia for diabetics and plant alts for those with dairy allergies. Honestly, unless you’re buying from a farmer, the gumless milks and butters might be better since big dairy is riddled with its own set of complex issues

Yeah, stevia isn’t too bad though, just gotta do moderation and a bit of research, like anything.
I also have a dairy allergy, so in the case of butter I’m super happy to see alts that are not all chemicals for all the lactose intolerant folks out there 🙃

Thinking about how I’ll be in Germany sometime next month for my new job, let me know if there’s anything to check out in Berlin!
I’m so excited, my high school German teacher would be so proud

Honestly perfect, because the anxiety of picking the perfect spot to stick the sticker is actually overwhelming

At least there’s some better plant butters now than the pseudo plastic margarines that you could get!
Although it really depends on the store if they have an alt that resembles real food.

Mine are dairy and tomatoes, which knocks out most Italian and Mexican food, but luckily my favorites are sushi and stir fries, so it’s not the end of the world, just no pizza 🥲

Watched the Project 2025 episode of John Oliver last night, and I applaud him for being able to deliver such gut-wrenching news while still making me laugh.
Highly recommend watching, a very important piece for all Americans to see

Anyone else watching Kaiju No. 8? Probably my fav of the season, it’s got such a fun style and a really nostalgic vibe to a lot of the animation. Love to see it

I used to teach these classes in college, and it was so pure and lovely to watch people fall in love with painting. I miss it often

Right, I barely even go on Etsy anymore because any time you search it’s always 2 pages of dropshippers before you see anything worthwhile. Algorithmically it makes sense to boost the best performing stores, but in the process they’ve lost sight of the entire purpose of the platform. It’s really sad

Definitely, it’s pretty much the same for any online marketplace it feels like. Something that should be managed by humans being shifted to the algorithm for oversight, which in turn holds users and workers to unrealistic standards. Like work performance being structured by points given by a machine

Oh my, that gives me the ick. I get the same stuff, I had one person that said I had a beautiful name upwards of 5 times on the same call, and I was just so put off by it. I know they’re all just doing their best and it’s the conglomerate that sets these guidelines, but it’s just off putting

Same, I just spent 40mins the other day on the Xfinity customer service hell loop, and it was finally “I want to cancel” that got me out of it. I won’t touch their online chats anymore, they serve only to infuriate me

I’ve used Ecosia for many years! You get a little tree tracker for all the trees planted which is super cute and makes you feel good! It’s powered by bing, but it works for me

I’ve found ‘cancel my service’ is the keyword phrase in getting a real person for my ISP, and retention services usually does the most to fix the problem anyway

Big same, the not knowing is the worst. Stress can definitely trigger worse symptoms (dealing with a big stress flare up right now too) but I feel like you gotta find that underlying root and then the stress is easier to carry
