being a cop gives you better access to potential victims and more protection than being a catholic priest, on top of a significantly less restrictive lifestyle and predators are very well aware of this fact

Don't recall where I first heard it, but I've heard mention of a "3 Cs" rule of thumb for who to be especially vigilant where your children are concerned. Cops, coaches, and clergy.

It’s just true. My very first internship taught me everything i needed to know about cops. A homeless shelter that housed teenage girls who had babies/were pregnant. The cops treated it like it was a brothel imo.

40% of all cops *self-identify* as domestic abusers. *if 40% are willing to call themselves abusers, the percentage who are has got to be much higher.

There's a sitting city councilor, Sean Chu, in Calgary who, when he was a cop, raped a 16 year old girl in his home. Calgary Police refused to investigate at the time. Chu has since refused to resign as councilor.
