Don't recall where I first heard it, but I've heard mention of a "3 Cs" rule of thumb for who to be especially vigilant where your children are concerned. Cops, coaches, and clergy.

My very first internship taught me everything i needed to know about cops. A homeless shelter that housed teenage girls who had babies/were pregnant.
The cops treated it like it was a brothel imo.
The two types of people who really don't do well in prison are ex-cops and child molesters.
Imagine the experience of someone who is both of those things.
There's a sitting city councilor, Sean Chu, in Calgary who, when he was a cop, raped a 16 year old girl in his home. Calgary Police refused to investigate at the time. Chu has since refused to resign as councilor.
