British artist #JaneLewis was an inspiration to me in my early career. Although she does work in oils & watercolor, she is most known for her pastels. She trained at #UniversityCollegeofWales, with honors in Fine Art and English. She loves Venice & has gone every year for decades.

Sometimes the panic grips very tightly. I get to a point where I don’t know what to think and sometimes don’t even trust my own instincts. Often I use sleep to escape but that’s counterproductive. A walk by the sea, though, is like being cleansed. I breathe again.

In 2018 a woman clearing out her Paris house found this Chinese vase, & although thinking it was “too pink”, had it identified by Sotheby’s. Turned out to be from 18C, incredibly rare, & created for the Emperor’s court. Its value? … Just over €16 million www.sothebys.com/en/articles/...
