A local comic shop (but thankfully not my lcs) posted something sexist on Facebook. It was a tired joke about wives trying to get their husbands to leave the comic shop. I responded letting them know that it was sexist. And they apologized for the "wording" of the joke like they misplaced a modifier

If you haven't watched the Marvels yet, it is custom made for a family movie night after a day of summer activities. Pour the kids some chocolate milk, pour yourself some wine, make a big old bowl of popcorn and watch 90 minutes of fast paced MCU fun. I adore this movie. It's a romp.

Playing Mario Kart with my kids. My son asks if he can get a go kart. I say no but that we can look into going go kart racing sometime. And then I immediately, without thinking, start singing the Garfunkel and Oates song "Go Kart Racing." I catch myself before it was too late but it was close.

This series has become my most anticipated book. And I feel so spoiled that it's weekly. I love the way that Anthony writes comic characters in general and queer characters in particular. There is such humanity and humor in his books

Normally, leading up to an MCU movie, I do a rewatch of some sort. But the humor in the Deadpool movies is not my cup of tea. I don't have a problem with it but a little sophomoric goes a LONG way for me. But I'm excited for Deadpool and Wolverine! So I'm going to rewatch some X-Men movies.
